Wade Robson Biography
Wade Robson is a major creative force with 20 years of experience in only 25 years of life. He has choreographed and directed music videos, commercials, award shows and world tours for recording artists such as Britney Spears, NSYNC, Usher, Mya and Pink. He created, produced and stared in MTV’s hit series, The Wade Robson Project. Since then he has written, choreographed and directed commercials for Sirius Satellite Radio and Power Shoes, who make his own line of dance footwear, award winning short films and groundbreaking choreography for Fox’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
Born in Brisbane, Australia, Wade made an entrance into entertainment at age 5 as a professional dancer. Wade and his family then moved to America when he was nine years old to pursue his career in the entertainment business. Before he turned 10 years old he had danced and acted in Michael Jackson videos, multiple commercials, films and TV shows.
At the age of 12, Wade decided he wanted to teach dance so he started at the famous Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood, CA. It wasn’t long before his classes were filled to capacity and he became Millenium’s biggest draw – a “rockstar teacher”. This led to his first professional choreography job for MCA recording artists Immature, ironically enough when he was just 14 years old. Wade’s development skyrocketed and he began to create a dance style that was all his own, accompanied by his own original music.
When Wade was 16 years old, his work caught the eye of Britney Spears. Before he knew it he was asked to do choreography for her 1999 world tour. After experiencing his talent first hand, Britney invited him to not only choreograph but to write, direct, remix the music, direct the video segments and co-design the sets for her award show performances and world tours including the acclaimed A Dream Within A Dream HBO special. This led to the same job description with NSYNC, which included their PopOdyssey World Tour. He also choreographed Britney’s famous Pepsi Commercials, her sultry Slave music video and NSYNC’s POP music video. Wade’s outstanding work ethic and eagle’s eye to detail presented him with opportunities that made apparent his arrival to the top of his class.
Wade co-wrote and produced What It’s Like To Be Me from the multi-platinum Britney album and 4 songs from *NSYNC’s multi-platinum Celebrity album, including the Grammy nominated single, Gone. This gained him an unprecedented administration deal with The Universal Music Group. Since then he has gone on to write and produce music for such recording artists such Justin Guarini, Dream, The Backstreet Boys, James Ingram and Carly Simon. Wade also recently released an album of his dance music entitled “Wade Robson’s Project-Dance Beats, Vol. 1.”
Wade won an EMMY in 2007 for a piece he choreographed for Fox’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE entitled RAMALAMA. Wade choreographed and starred in a special performance for DANCING WITH THE STARS in 2007, which turned out to be one of the seasons highest rated episodes. Wade and his wife Amanda are currently developing an independent dance feature film, which he will direct and choreograph. Wade is also choreographing CIRQUE DU SOLEIL/CRISS ANGEL BELIEVE which will open at the Las Vegas Luxor in 2008.
He also just received his second EMMY nomination for “The Hummingbird & the Flower.” A piece he choreographed for Fox’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE in 2007.
Wade is excited about his continual personal and creative growth and is passionate about bringing his knowledge of music, choreography, storytelling, direction and life perspective to stage, commercial, music video and film.
